What are Smart Meters and why would I want to train to install them?
Smart Meters are a new type of Gas and Electric meters that will give consumers more information about their energy usage, and also provide automatic meter readings to their supplier. The Government have a set a target of over 50 million meters that will need fitting in 27 million households before 2020, meaning that Energy Providers are going to need a qualified workforce to meet demand. There is a huge opportunity for both existing electricians/gas engineers and those new to the industry.
